hydraulic transmission has the following advantages
Hydraulic transmission has the following advantages:
1) At the same volume, the hydraulic device can generate more power than the electrical device. At the same power, the hydraulic device has small volume and mass, i.e. high power density and compact structure. The volume and mass of the Hydraulic Motor is only about 12% of the same power motor.
2) The hydraulic device works smoothly. Because of its low mass and inertia and fast response, hydraulic devices are easy to start quickly, brake and commutate frequently. The commutation frequency of hydraulic device can reach 500 times/min in reciprocating swing movement and 1000 times/min in reciprocating straight movement.
3) The hydraulic device can adjust speed steplessly over a wide range (up to 2000), and it can also adjust speed during operation.
4) Hydraulic transmission is easy to adjust or control the fluid pressure, flow rate or flow direction. When combined with hydraulic control and electrical control, electronic control or pneumatic control, the entire transmission can achieve very complex sequential action, as well as convenient remote control and automation.
5) Hydraulic device is easy to realize overload protection.
6) Because the hydraulic components have been standardized, serialized and universal, the design, manufacture and use of Hydraulic System are more convenient.
7) It is much simpler to use hydraulic drive to achieve linear motion than mechanical drive.
The disadvantages of hydraulic transmission are:
1) Hydraulic transmission often has more energy loss (friction loss, leakage loss, etc.) in the process of operation, especially in the case of long-distance transmission.
2) Hydraulic transmission is sensitive to the change of oil temperature, and its movement speed and system working stability are susceptible to temperature, so it is not suitable to work at very high or low temperature.
3) In order to reduce leakage, hydraulic components require high manufacturing accuracy, so they are more expensive and sensitive to oil contamination.
4) It is difficult to find out the cause when the hydraulic transmission fails.
In general, the advantages of hydraulic transmission are outstanding, and its disadvantages can be continuously overcome or improved by technical progress.
